In order to facilitate active interactions between Vietnamese and Japanese students, academics and experts in various scientific fields, the Vietnamese-Japanese Student’s Scientific Exchange Meeting (VJSE) has been organized by the Vietnamese Youth and Student Association (VYSA) since 2004 in different cities around Japan. After more than one decade of development, VJSE is now an annual forum for scholars, professionals, and students to share their knowledge, scientific achievements as well as to widen their networks and friendships, leading to promising collaborations in the future. With this mission, VJSE has contributed to strengthen the strategic relationship, and to deepen the mutual understanding between Japan and Vietnam.

At this 10th meeting in Tokyo, to mark a new stage in its development, VJSE-2017 is renamed as the Vietnam – Japan Scientific Exchange Meeting. Continuing the success of preceding meetings, VJSE-2017 with the topic of “Connecting people: Shaping the future” is not only providing a forum to improve the scientific collaboration between two countries in a diverse range of fields, but also bringing an invaluable chance for intellectual and cultural exchanges.
